最好能人禸翻一下。。。从with the?artist's eye开始我就晕了ORZ

Woman as metaphor of the human is the artist’s recurring motif, and the changes, shifts and final metamorphosis in the female figure make up the action and the true drama of the pictures; a drama which, with the artist’s eye for the tight-fitting masks of the cosmetic industry, bears the marks of the present, but whose memories of the female images of the past go back centuries: through the Victorian ladies of the nineteenth century, the sensual princesses of the Renaissance, and all the way back to the fatal demi-goddesses of antiquity, whose sensual shrugs of the shoulders could drive their admirers over the edge of desire and impossible love.

乱番番,艺术史的课也修过,能看懂但是翻不大出来。。。
女性作为人类的象征是艺术家经常使用的主旨。女性角色的变化,转变,和最终质变造就了整个作品的动态和内在故事。作品的故事,透过艺术家的眼睛(跟化妆品的面膜有什么关系?不懂),包容着现今的印记,但也涵盖着数个世纪以来的女性形象;从19世纪的维多利亚女性,到文艺复兴时期的公主,甚至追溯到古代的女神,他们挑逗的耸肩会吸引仰慕者们跨越渴求和禁忌爱的边缘。

提个问
第二行?a drama 后面的which 是不是可以跳过 with那段, 连到bears the marks of the present, 这那是不是就是which的从句了? 那drama的verb在哪儿? 后面的whose是跟着drama的吧.... 咋感觉这句子那么扭曲呢? 还是我语法太差了?

artist's eyes那里我的理解是 artist通过观察化妆品行业的tight-fitting masks来创作画中人物形象的脸
我不会翻译 大概就是说 artist是以现今的那种化妆效果作为他理想中的人物的脸 所以才会说有现今的印记

哦,这样理解好像对的,艺术家以现代化妆的方式来勾绘相貌,使其背上了现今的印记,而记忆却需要追溯到千年之前。。。。。。
