Hey gals, wanna use a piece of advice on whether Im suffering a potential fraud claim from Amazon. Sharing any of ur related experience or knowledge would be a great help. really appreciate it.
OK. here's the thing.
I ordered a macbook from Amazon like a month ago. (supposed to receive the package on may 1st). When 2 days passed the delivery date and I had checked with the building mail room about the package for like thousands of time, my package was no where to be found. Therefore, I called amazon and told them my package got lost, furthermore required a replacement for my order. The rep did help me to file a replacement request and told me the result would come out in about 2 days. I waited while hearing nothing from amazon until one day my building mail room just "magically" found my package and noticed me, and that point of time was like 2 weeks away from I placed the request. Anyways, I then emailed amazon on the same day I got the package saying I wanted to withdraw the replacement request cause the package has been found, so they don't have to worry about it any more, blah blah. Then I just left this matter behind my head.?
Somehow, today I got this email from Amazon, said they've finally got my replacement request approved, since I moved during the processing period, they are unable to ship the replacement to a new address due to some corp policies, therefore they would refund all my money back into my account now.?
u know, 1K big ones r pretty tempting to me and the greedy part of me really wants to keep them, however, Im also worried if I kept the refund and amazon eventually found out that I've received this shipment, would they come to me and report me in? I certainly don't want my credit records looked bad nor got a lawsuit sth against me. In that case, I will report the mistake to Amazon as soon as possible before things got stinky...
Or...by any chance, could it be as long as they approved a refund they would never look at my order again? end of story, case closed. (Woohoo!).?
Trying to weigh how much the risk is by keeping the refunds, any suggestion would be more than welcome!
