I would totally believe that his solo tour opportunity just happened
to come by after KAT-TUN already planned their FIRST Asian Tour and
that he'll be returning to the group after that, if not for the fact
that this is not the first time something like this has happened.
It's
kind of obvious isn't it, that even if this was not entirely his idea,
he prefers to be solo than with the group. And I don't think it's
unfair/unreasonable for some fans to prefer him leaving if he's just
going to keep on taking 'breaks' from the group. They're saying "no he
is not leaving for good", but it's not the same as saying "yes he will
definitely be returning". It seems like it's just the agency being
vague and keeping it open for now.

lackluster person who doesn't care about the overall health of the
group. KAT-TUN in my opinion from SMAP onwards, is the weakest group
overall. No real cohesiveness unlike the other groups, thats even
considering NEWS.
If he thinks he can be successful in the US,
good luck but he ain't going anywhere here, not with his attitude. When
other bigger artists like BoA and Utada struggle to crack it in the US,
he won't.
people forget that the Japanese are very critical of their artists. going to the US will be bad if he fails.
